Sample school to school collaboration which partners teachers from different schools who share a teacher-created project.

 

Project Idea from teachers

We have come to a consensus on the VC.  All of the kindergarten teachers are willing to do a conference, if we have that many people interested.  The VCs can be scheduled during the time period of April 26-May 2 at 9:30 or 2:00.  (We can arrange other times and dates if needed on an individual basis.)  

 

The other class' assignment will be to complete a simple starfish art project using a copy sheet we will email or fax to them and Cheerios.  The class will be required to find out at least 3 facts about starfish that they can present to our class.  Our class will research another sea creature and complete a simple project that they will present during the VC.  It should be simple and allow the kids to learn, teach and create.  If you can think of anything else we need to add or adjust in order to make it better or run smoother, please let us know.

Notice that the speaking and sharing during the videoconference is from the students. We encourage teachers to let their students do the speaking and reading when possible. At first, they can be nervous, but quickly get excited about talking with students from other schools, town, and states!
